Spain 2-1 Germany
Both teams played for the victory , but Spain came out on top knocking out the hosts and favourites Germany. Spain scored after half time and looked like they'd hold on to win in normal time but Germany scored. This meant that the tie went to extra time. Many thought they'd be seeing a penalty shootout but Spain scored 1 minute before the end of time. Breaking the hearts of Germany! Setting up a Semi Final tie with France.
France 0-0 Portugal
An interesting game despite no goals. Both teams were defensively solid. They both had chances to win the game in normal time. Thus, they were required to be separated through a penalty shootout. Because of one miss , Portugal were knocked out by France who converted all their penalties. Ronaldo probably played his last Euros game!
England 1-1 Switzerland
Both teams had to play a full two hours, as they couldn't be separated. Switzerland looked like they'd have to hold on for 10 minutes but England scored. Thus, taking the match to extra time which was of no use despite both teams going close. This meant they required penalties and one missed penalty from Switzerland meant England went to the Semi Finals. Switzerland must be applauded for their hard work and determination, hard luck to them.
Netherlands 2-1 Türkiye
This was an interesting game! The only game of the 4 that didn't go to extra time. Türkiye took the shock lead just before half time and were holding on for quite some time! However, in the last 20 minutes Netherlands scored 2 goals to play England in the Semis. Fair play to Türkiye, no one expected them to get to this stage and did well.
This means that the Semi Finals will have 2 blockbusters. The four teams are all capable of winning the thing France will play Spain and Netherlands will play England. Whoever wins will be in the final of the Euros.
