The Round Of 16 in the Euros. Proved to have many exciting matches. The world got to experience many great moments and moments of sadness.
France beat Belgium through a late own goal. The match could have gone either way but ultimately experience paid off for France. Another disappointing tournament for Belgium.
The first match of the Round Of 16 was between Switzerland and Italy. A shock result happened as the holders Italy were defeated and eliminated 2-0 by Switzerland. Not even I expected this! Showing us that shocks can happen.
The second match of the Euros Round Of 16, was between the hosts Germany and Denmark. Germany won 2-0 but Denmark scored first only to be ruled out. Some thought it should be counted , not only that the match was temporarily suspended for thunder! :)
Slovakia were looking like they were knocking out England 1-0. However, a late equaliser by Jude Bellingham with an overhead kick took it to extra time. Slovakia's hard work was to no avail as Harry Kane scored the late winner. The match finished 2-1 to England.
Georgia shocked everyone one by taking a shock lead. Then Spain took the game back before scoring 4 to meet hosts Germany in the Quarters, the 2 favourites to win the Euros.
France beat Belgium through a late own goal. The match could have gone either way but ultimately experience paid off for France. Another disappointing tournament for Belgium.
Portugal drew to Slovenia. They could have won the tie before the 90' but Ronaldo missed a penalty. This meant the match went to extra time which eventually went to penalties which Portugal won 3-0.
Netherlands easily cruised past Romania 3-0. They were really in control all through the game. To be honest, they should have won by a bigger margin.
Finally, last match of the Round Of 16 was between Austria and Türkiye. This game resulted in a shock victory for Türkiye 2-1. Austria were the favourites to win the tie to play group stage rivals Netherlands again in the Quarters.
This meant that the Quarters will be of these fixtures.
Germany v Spain
France v Portugal
England v Switzerland
Netherlands v Türkiye
I think these games won't disappoint hopefully. What do you guys think?
